Individualized Support with a Disability Specialist A Disability Specialist provides individualized support to students with all kinds of disabilities. This support can take many forms including informal academic advising, advocacy, and letters to professors designating reasonable accommodation, if appropriate. Disability Specialists assist students in developing strategies for time management, organization, study skills, test preparation, and transition to and beyond life at the university. We also assist with solving problems and provide information about other campus and community resources. Generally, the Disability Specialist will conduct an intake with new students at which time additional appointments can be arranged. Support services are available to students regardless of what college and/or program they are enrolled in.
