Program for Denver Area girls is "Simply the Best"
Simply the Best is a program that lives up to its name. Created in 1999 by Director Margaret Eisenhart, distinguished professor and the Bob and Judy Charles Professor of Education in the School of Education, the program gives underrepresented middle school girls an appreciation for science and technology and how it can be used to their advantage. 		CU-Boulder Investigates Computer Security Incidents The University of Colorado at Boulder is investigating two incidents of unauthorized access to a computer server, one used by Wardenburg Health Center and the other used by the Visual Resource Center of the College of Architecture and Planning.

		Warner Imig, Former CU-Boulder College Of Music Dean, Dies At 92 Warner Imig, the longtime dean of the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Music and a well-known conductor and choral director, died July 15 in Mesa, Ariz. He was 92.

		Fluorescing Lab Worms Signal Longer Life Spans, Reports CU-Boulder Team University of Colorado at Boulder scientists have used a fluorescent marker to predict the individual life spans of identical worms that were genetically engineered to illuminate stress levels, implying living organisms have "hidden physiological states" that dictate their ability to deal with the rigors of life.

AWARDS AND KUDOS

Environmental Health and Safety Kudo
Environmental Health and Safety reports that the University was commended by the City of Boulder Water Quality and Environmental Services Industrial Pretreatment Program for being in perfect compliance for the 2004 calendar year. They stated that the University's ongoing commitment demonstrates respect for the environment and the community.

Publications and Creative Services Receives Three CASE Awards
University of Colorado at Boulder Publications and Creative Services received three awards at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VI conference earlier this year. The publications team won a gold award for excellence in graphic design on the Office of Contracts and Grants Sponsored Research Report and two bronze awards for excellence in communications, one for Divide magazine and another for CUEngineering.
