The scope of research accomplished by CU-Boulder's institutes and centers ranges from analyzing how the universe was formed to determining the causes of school violence, and from developing sustainable energy options to manufacturing microelectromechanical devices smaller than a speck of dust.
This research often calls for full interdisciplinary and community or industrial teamwork and often addresses important, real-world problems for Colorado, the United States, and the rest of the world.
